OCTAVA GAS METERS

SOE Plant Generator has been manufacturing Octava G1,6 (G2,5; G4) and Octava A1 G6 (G4/G6) Gas Meters for 22 years. In the those years, over 1, 200 thousand meters produced by us have been installed in Ukraine. The quality of our meters is confirmed with availability of certificates of conformity and the results of tender competitions conducted by NaftoGaz Of Ukraine NJSC. The Plant successfully cooperates with all regions of Ukraine.

Octava Gas Meters are manufactured in a closed cycle and are 100% Ukrainian product minimally affected by fluctuations in US dollar exchange rate.

Unlike other meters, Gas Meters produced by Plant Generator have a number of advantages:

– the housing of Octava Gas Meters is manufactured using rolled zinc-coated steel that completely prevents corrosion of the meters

– the meters are built on specially developed ultra-heavy-duty diaphragm, which operates in a broad temperature range from -40°C to +50°C.

– the spool and sleeve s made of Belgian phenolic plastic that provides higher stability of geometry that in turn ensures stable metrological characteristics in the process of operation

 – the reinforcing bar in the housing, which withstands mechanical load applied to the fittings;

 – sufficient designed reserve for pressure loss at maximum flow rate of gas;

 – the gas meters have a built-in device that protects them from mechanical impurities, which come from gas main pipeline (untreated Ukrainian gas) and unauthorized intervention by customers into the operation of the meters;

 – two modifications are produced with left-to-right and right-to-left (Mark L) directions of gas flow;

 – the modifications of the meters with extended range of rated volume flow rate, Mark Q;

 – the modifications of the meters with pulsed output signal and capability of connection to a remote automated gas metering system, Mark I;

Octava A1-I (G6) and Octava I (G4, G2,5, G1,6) Gas Meters (with pulsed output) make it possible to conduct the following operations via the pulse sensor:

– remote readout in automated information gathering and processing systems;

– testing for effect of external magnetic field;

– testing for circuit opening or short circuit;

 

Pulse Sensor Parameters:

– value of one pulse, which corresponds to the measured gas volume: 0.01 cubic meter;

– Power Supply Voltage: 2.5–3 V;

– Current Consumption: not more than 20 mcA;

Connecting the sensor to a meter with pulsed output already installed at the customer’s side, requires, while leaving meter in place, removing of the third seal (on the right of the indicating device), remove the plugging holder, install the holder with the sensor and re-seal. At the same time, the metrological seals of the indicating device will not be damaged.

 

In order to reduce errors in commercial metering of gas, the Plant manufactures meters, which

are calibrated for the rated operating temperature of the measurement environment Tn, which serves as the basis for conversion of the measurement results to the base temperature Tv = 20°C:

– Tn = 15°C for meters, which will be installed in heated locations;

– Tn = 0°C for meters, which will be installed outside of the heated locations.

 

 

Gas Meter  G1,6

1 Intended Use

 

Diaphragm Gas Meters OCTAVA (hereinafter referred to as “the meters”) are designed for measurement of natural gas volume during the conduct of gas metering in utility and household services and testing of manufacturing processes. The natural gas must be compliant with USSR State Standard GOST 5542.

The meters are produced in three nominal sizes: G1,6, G2,5, and G4 according to the single basic design. The modifications of the meters have the following Marks:

- 2 which means Modification 2, depending on the limits permissible relative errors of the meters in the range of volume flow rate;

- Q which means extended range of rated volume flow rate;

- L which means right-to-left direction of gas flow in the meters;

- I which means pulsed output and capability to install pulse sensor for connection to automated remote gas metering system.

Modifications of meters: Modification 1 with standard range of rated volume flow rate, left-to-right direction of gas flow without pulsed output have no special Marks.

In relation to effect of the climatic factors of external environment, the meters belong to climatic modification and location category of meter UHL 2 in compliance with GOST 15150.

In order to reduce errors in the operation conditions, the meters are calibrated in the process of their production with conversion of the measurement results of gas volume from the rated operating temperature of natural gas (Tn) to the temperature of gas under standard conditions (base temperature) Tb = 20 ºС

The type of the meters is approved by the State Committee of Ukraine for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy (Derzhspozhyvstandart) and is entered in the Public Registry of Measurement Instruments Allowed for Application in Ukraine, under No. U2116-12.

Gas Meters G4/G6

1 Intended Use

 

Diaphragm Gas Meters OCTAVA-A1 (hereinafter referred to as “the meters”) is designed for measurement of natural gas volume. The natural gas must be compliant with requirements and norms of USSR State Standard GOST 5542.

The meters shall be used for the conduct of gas metering in utility and household services and testing of manufacturing processes.

The meters will be installed on low pressure gas pipelines in residential and manufacturing locations and under a shed or in metal cases (no direct effect of solar radiation and atmospheric precipitation).

The meters are produced in two nominal sizes: G6 and G4/G6. Depending on the limits of permissible relative errors in the range of volume flow rate, the meters have two modifications: G6-1, G4/G6 – 1 (Modification 1) and G6-2, G4/G6-2 (Modification 2).

The meters have the single basic design and individual modifications of the meters have the following Marks:

- Q which means extended range of rated volume flow rate;

- L which means right-to-left direction of gas flow in the meters;

- I which means pulsed output and capability to install pulse sensor for connection to automated remote gas metering system.

Modifications of meters: left-to-right direction of gas flow and no pulsed output: no special Marks.
